Vay Nhanh Fast Money. Cardi Bâs long-simmering feud with frenemy Nicki Minaj erupted once again on Monday (Oct. 29). Minaj hosted her tenth episode of Queen Radio, where she dished on the infamous Harperâs Bazaar Icons party altercation at New York Fashion Week last month, Cardiâs hopes to have her on âBartier Carti,â and much more â even allegedly leaking the Bronx rapperâs phone number to have fans harass her. Explore See latest videos, charts and news See latest videos, charts and news Cardi didnât waste much time in escalating the feud, punching back with a series of fiery selfie videos and receipts posted to Instagram, meticulously breaking down each of the claims made hours prior by Minaj, and even coining the term âfootages.â After more subliminal back-and-forth, the pair of rap heavyweights finally agreed to peacefully move past their beef and lead with love for the time being. The feud between Nicki and Cardi has been boiling for over a year now, since Bardiâs meteoric rise placed her beside Minaj on the rap totem pole. Thereâs also been ton of moving parts here, with various players chiming in after hearing their name thrown into the mix, which has caused the entertaining dispute to continue to spread much like a California wildfire. Here is everyone that has become swept up in the Cardi B versus Nicki Minaj clash, and their role in the matter, explained in further detail. Nicki Minaj It was another jampacked episode of Queen Radio, with Nicki not holding anything back in lambasting her hip-hop compatriot Cardi B. She cleared up any confusion regarding the NYFW Harperâs Bazaar event, claiming that her close friend Rah Ali actually connected on a few shots toward Bardi, rather than her security team, leaving Cardi with a pretty substantial welt on her forehead. âRah really, really beat Cardiâs ass bad. Rah beat you so bad that I was mad at Rah. You went home and told people security hit you, and we let that ride for legal reasons,â Nicki said. âAnybody that wanna pull up the surveillance footage, I will give you $100,000.â The Queens native then denied ever leaking the 26-year-oldâs phone number to fans, and later touched on the fact Cardi B wanted to have her assist on âBartier Carti,â but said she refused to do so since they were about to team up on the Migosâ âMotorsport.â âWhat type of bird shit you on, bitch? I didnât leak your number,â Minaj emphatically stated on Queen Radio. âStop lying on me. You stopped 21 Savage from being on two songs with me because he was featured on your single,â she continued. âYou wanted me on your second single.â â QUEEN (@NICKIMINAJ) October 31, 2018 Cardi B Just last week (Oct. 25), the Atlantic Records signee shaded the Barbz, claiming they were at fault for spreading the leaked version of her fresh âMoneyâ single. âWe tried to retract it, but you know the Barbz â they always posting me, they always post everything I do,â she told Ebro Darden of Beats 1. Cardi clearly reached her boiling point when it came to Minaj repeatedly speaking on her name throughout her Monday (Oct. 29) radio show. Kultureâs mother lashed out and shredded Nicki via several Instagram videos, while defending herself amid the controversy. âHow you say when I was the wild animal, that I attacked you, that you was mortified, that you was humiliated, playing the victim and now youâre the gangster,â she began. âYou need to pick a side â do you want to be the victim or do you want to be the gangster? You lie so much you canât even keep up with youâre fucking lies⊠I know what thereâs footage of you standing on the wall, talking about, âIâm standing right here,â Miss Chun-Li the street fighter. Get the fuck out of here.â The âI Like Itâ rapper attempted to one-up Minaj by proving she was being offered to hop on certain tracks and endorsement deals even prior to artists and brands eventually moving on to Nicki. Cardi capped everything off by saying Minaj canât even keep up with her own lies, and that she needs to stop worrying about others because sheâs in the midst of wrecking her own decorated legacy as an all-time MC. âWhat you need to do is stop focusing on other people, focus on yourself and focus on your craft, because youâre out here fucking up your legacy looking like a fucking hater,â Cardi concluded. Hennessy Carolina Affiliation: Cardi Bâs younger sister. Itâs always a positive when you have family in your corner, and nobody goes harder to protect her own than Cardiâs 22-year-old sister, publicly known as Hennessy Carolina. Earlier this week (Oct. 27), Carolina clashed with Minajâs Barbz fanbase, accusing Nicki of leaking her sisterâs phone number to a number of Minaj fan pages, in order to have them continually mess with Cardiâs mental state. âYa asking why Iâm beefing with a fan base but ya not asking why someone with so much influence would use their influence to manipulate their fans to spread so much negativity and hate!â she wrote to Instagram. âShe leaked my sisterâs number to her fan pages the same shit she did to Mariah Lynn. Itâs easy for yâall to ask me why Iâm bothered, why I care so much. But not one of you is waking up to death threats every day, made up stories that can effect my real life and real relationships. Imagine if this was your infant child, imagine if this was your sister or ya mother.â The 22-year-old followed-up to continue her war of words with Minaj ally Rah Ali, after she warned the Barbz to not comment on her page if they canât deal with the consequences when she responds. âI ainât scared of you water buffalo built ass bitches, save that bully shit for IG and pop the fuck out in real life,â Hennessy captioned. #hennessycarolina admits that #nickiminaj allegedly leaked #cardib phone number. â DJ Louie Styles TV (@DJLouieStylesTV) October 28, 2018 Rah Ali Affiliation: Nicki Minajâs close friend. Within the last year, Nicki Minaj and Rah Ali have grown closer ever since she notched an appearance in Minajâs âNo Fraudsâ visual to publicize their blossoming relationship. The brash television personality is definitely someone youâd want to have on your side in case anything ever turned physical. Contrary to original reports of security being at fault for the lump left on Cardiâs head following the Harperâs Bazaar party, the Queen artist explained that it was actually Aliâs doing. Ali has since doubled down on her rivalry with Cardiâs sister Hennessy Carolina. Days ago, she popped up in Carolinaâs comments to warn her that a fight would ensue on sight between the two if they ever crossed paths again. âKeep playing with me you dumb bitch and Iâma RAG YOU like I did your sister,â Rah proclaimed. âYou seen ya big sis when she got home. You know whatâs up. You next.â Steve Madden Affiliation: Nicki Minaj claimed to have turned down a potential collaboration. Steve Maddenâs name got dragged through the mud after Minaj tweeted that she declined a potential collaboration with the shoe brand. Back in 2015, Madden confessed in a VIBE Magazine interview that he got into a verbal fight with Nicki within the first few minutes of them actually meeting. After patching up their relationship, the fashion designer did admit that he regretted choosing to partner with Iggy Azalea rather than Nicki. Minaj recalled turning down the opportunity to work with Steve Madden in a tweet Monday night (Oct. 29). âSame thing with Steve Madden. Irv Gotti asked me to do that deal several times. I passed. You never hear me talking bout things like this. She really thought she was doing something talking about turning down deals,â the 35-year-old wrote. The official Steve Madden Twitter account got wind of Nickiâs comments and swiftly clapped back at Minajâs claims, saying there was never such an offer extended from their end. â@NICKIMINAJ you canât turn down an offer that was never made. #StopLying,â the company wrote. Fellow Queens rapper 50 Cent reposted Maddenâs confusing comments from his interview with VIBE Magazine, prompting a response from Onika. âThis hoe ass nâ-a came to my house in Malibu with Irv Gotti begging me to do the deal! My manager Gee Roberson was there. Canât believe grown ass men getting on the internet lying like hoes,â the Young Money artist commented on the post. Madden himself released an official statement from the company Twitter early Wednesday (Oct. 31) apologizing for his actions pitting the artists against each other. Itâs safe to say Nicki would not be accepting his mea culpa. .@NICKIMINAJ is an incredibly talented artist but we couldnât work together cuz the timing wasnât right. @iamcardib came on the scene and I had a fantastic collaboration with her, and she is also an amazing talent. Part of Nicki Minajâs riveting allegations from episode 10 of Queen Radio included her accusing Cardi B of not allowing 21 Savage to appear on a pair of records with her since the two linked up for âBartier Cardi.â One of the records the 35-year-old looks to be referencing is âKrippy Kush,â which saw Travis Scott assist on the remix rather than 21. The trackâs producer, Rvssian, came to Cardiâs defense by confirming that the only reason the Atlanta native didnât make the record was because of a scheduling conflict. â21 Savage was replaced by Travis Scott because 21 has an issue with his kid and couldnât make Krippy kush video⊠not because of anything else,â the dancehall producer direct messaged Cardi. He later addressed the matter publicly on Twitter. âIâm not going to agree with something that wasnât done involving my song. Its a simple fact. Truth is the truth,â he wrote. Cardi B addressed the record during the eighth video of her Instagram series Monday night (Oct. 29), declaring that the group in fact approached her to get on the track before Nicki. âI had to decline it because Iâm doing a lot of pop records, so I canât, you know, oversaturate myself. But that came to me first, and then they give it to you,â Cardi said. Little Mix released an official statement refuting Cardiâs claims Tuesday morning (Oct. 30), saying that Minaj was offered the record first, as they had always dreamed of working alongside the âSuper Bassâ artist. âWe love and respect both Nicki and Cardi B. Both were approached by our label to work with us on Woman Like Me, Nicki then Cardi. We went with Nicki because like weâve said over and over for years, itâs been a dream of ours to work with her since the beginning. In the midst of Cardiâs exhausting rant, she quipped about how her turning down branding opportunities has allowed Nicki Minajâs business to thrive. âThat Diesel deal that you got? Yeah, that came to me first. And I had to decline it because Iâm already working with fashion brands,â the âMoneyâ rapper explained. Wilhelmina CEO Bill Wackermann weighed in on Cardiâs statements with an Instagram post of his own, referencing Minaj as the one and only queen. âTell the truth Boo! That diesel deal was built AROUND the one and only Queen. #truthwillsetyoufree @nickiminaj @iamcardib â Iâve got the receipts,â Wackermann wrote to refute the Bronx nativeâs original claims regarding Nickiâs involvement with Dieselâs anti-bullying, Haute Couture campaign. Cardi B pulled up some old emails from Diesel in a since-deleted post featuring a preliminary business proposal for a possible partnership starting in Jan. 2019, where she would be offered the opportunity to create her very own capsule collection with the brand. She ultimately declined the contract. With Cardi being engaged to Offset and signed to Quality Control, Yachty declared allegiance to his âWho Want the Smokeâ collaborator and the QC family. As much as heâd want to work with Nicki, Yachty shared that he just couldnât at the moment, since it would qualify as a conflict of interest. âCardi show me too much love 4 me be in the dark about who I side with. Less than 24 hours after saying she would be staying out of the Cardi B and Nicki Minaj feud, Iggy Azalea provided some back up for Nicki in relation to her striking accusations about Steve Maddenâs business malpractice. She then took aim at Madden as well for not holding up his end of their partnership. âSteve is a fuck boy. He did some sidebar shit when my deal said I had full creative control, couldnât handle being called out on it and then tried to publicly backtrack. But based on the evidence, it looks like Nicki Minaj is the clear frontrunner. Cardi B VS. Nicki Minaj: Who Is The Queen Of Rap? Conclusion Cardi B and Nicki Minaj are two of the most famous rappers in the world. Cardi B is more famous than Nicki Minaj, according to a new study. The study, which was conducted by the website found that Cardi B is more famous than Nicki Minaj in nearly every country. In the United States, Cardi B is more famous than Nicki Minaj by a margin of nearly two to one. In the United Kingdom, Cardi B is more famous than Nicki Minaj by a margin of nearly three to one. And in Australia, Cardi B is more famous than Nicki Minaj by a margin of nearly four to one.
On July 11, artist Cardi B and husband Offset, part of the hip-hop trio Migos, publicly welcomed their first child together, daughter Kulture Kiara Cephus. News of the Bronx rapperâs delivery, which actually occurred the day before, spread fast; in just 12 hours it racked up nearly 6 million likes on Instagram and trended on Twitter for hours. As far as major releases go, it was yet another success for the stripper-turned-social media personality-turned-reality star-turned-rapper-turned-national days like these are becoming the norm for the 25-year-old star. Consider this: Within a 10-day span this month, Cardi B (real name: Belcalis Marlenis Almanzar) scored her second Hot 100 chart-topping hit (becoming the first female rapper to achieve the feat) while on the internet, a baby picture of her sparked the incredibly viral âMy Momma Saidâ and personally, itâs good to be Cardi B right feels especially true when compared to Nicki Minaj. The burgeoning rivalry between the two women, whether real or exaggerated, has consumed the music community for weeks. Although Cardi Bâs single âI Like Itâ may be flooding the airwaves right now, Minaj has been hip-hopâs leading lady for the better part of the past decade. The veteran rapper is also currently promoting her upcoming album, âQueen,â which is set to be released on Aug. 10. The title is revealing â expectations for the album are sky-high. Heavy is the head that wears the crown, new singles, âChun-Liâ and âBarbi Tingz,â trended on impact in early April but both plateaued early, resulting in only tepid success beyond digital platforms. (To be fair, âChun-Liâ was a Top 10 hit but lacked the long-tail ubiquity of her past bangers; her latest single from âQueen,â the Ariana Grande-assisted âBed,â is still bubbling but has yet to break through on the charts). Meanwhile, a recent scandal involving Minaj and a critic has attracted more bad publicity for the rapper. (In response to a bloggerâs tweet that Minaj should seek out more mature subject matter, the artist sent the woman angry and obscene private messages. When those DMs become public, Minajâs virulent fan community of âBarbzâ attacked the blogger online, and she ultimately lost her job.)So why exactly have things been so hard for Nicki and so seemingly gilded for Cardi?Thereâs something particularly frustrating about the current attempt to pit these two talented women against each the comparison may seem obvious, itâs actually an unfair one. This country loves binaries, whether itâs in politics (Democrats or Republicans), sports (LeBron or Kobe) or entertainment (Kim Cattrall or Sarah Jessica Parker). Forget shades of grey, a color neither Minaj or Cardi would be caught dead in anyway. But thereâs something particularly frustrating about the current attempt to pit these two talented women against each there hasnât been the fan (or critical) bandwidth to accept multiple female lyricists at one time. As much as we compare Drake with Kendrick Lamar, plenty of other male artists, including J. Cole, Nipsey Hussle, Kanye West and Pusha T, among others, have all enjoyed their own time in the sun this year. For men in hip-hop, it seems there is plenty of room and critical attention to go be clear, thereâs many talented women in hip-hop right now: Minaj, Cardi, Rapsody, Stefflon Don, Saweetie, Rico Nasty, etc. â they just aren't getting equal attention. And those who do break through are to often treated as rivals from the jump. Indeed, the Minaj-Cardi narrative has gotten so intense that fans now pick through their lyrics looking for subliminal disses, even after both have issued denials and even praise for each other. Add in the peanut gallery of social media and the rise of urban gossip blogs, and the shade feels though, there was ever a moment to pinpoint when the dueling narratives of Cardi B and Nicki Minaj were solidified, it was after the pairâs only music collaboration. As featured artists on Migosâ track âMotorSport,â the two supernovas finally collided for the first time in both the song and music video. The collaboration wasnât supposed to be a confrontation, although many people read it that way anyway â sparking a whole new wave of speculation about the pairâs relationship. It was a monumental moment, to say the boisterous verse bolstered her momentum as she headed toward her debut LP. It positioned her, at least for the songâs five minutes, as an equal to the queen. Minaj, meanwhile, solidified her reputation as a song-stealing superstar. What could have been a win-win for both, however, quickly turned into controversy and confusion in the aftermath of the singleâs release. Were they purposefully dissing each other? Had they seen each other's verses beforehand? Was this an indication of bad blood or was it all just a misunderstanding?Cardi was candid. Minaj was was, in some respects, a snapshot of the pairâs fundamental personality differences. Whereas Cardi wears honesty well and oozes charm, Minaj can come across as petty when she engages in fights that feel unbecoming, especially considering her stature. In this case, Minaj ended up looking like the more accomplished rapper, perhaps, but one visibly uncomfortable with the thought of another planet entering her previously empty solar Cardi wears honesty well and oozes charm, Minaj can come across as petty when she engages in fights that feel two have patched things up, by all accounts. However in the wake of the kerfuffle, their paths has capitalized on the narrative of the new, rising underdog, championed in countless profiles for her scrappy personality and screwball seduction. Her success is still shiny and increased scrutiny hasnât led to much meaningful backlash, despite her omnipresence and periodic lack of a filter. And to be clear, Cardi has taken advantage of every opportunity afforded her, displaying a talent for getting along with pretty much anyone. Just ask John Mulaney. It helps that her debut project, âInvasion of Privacy,â is legitimately among the yearâs Minaj has had an uneven couple of years. After three multi-platinum albums and seven consecutive wins at the BET Awards for Best Female Hip-Hop Artist, Minaj took a break at the end of 2017. The sabbatical came in the aftermath of her high-profile break-up with the pugnacious Meek Mill, which followed the implosion of her relationship with her former hype man, Safari. (She rapped about the latter split on 2014âs âPinkprint.â)Just in time for Cardi Bâs ascendance, Minaj is back, with mounting expectations. Some of these are warranted â Minaj is an institution unto herself and has for many years doubled as the primary foundation for womenâs hip-hop. Sheâs also judicious with her appearances. She doesnât need to court the media because the media already scrutinizes her every move. But this scarcity also benefits Cardi B, who has moved into the vacuum left by Minajâs relative itâs always harder for the person already at the top than the one still climbing the mountain. The criticism can be cutting. The judgment unforgiving. But remember this: Without Nicki Minaj, Cardi B likely wouldnât be able to flow so effortlessly between her colorful personas: one minute raunchy and the next charmingly proper. And without Cardi B, Nicki Minaj would have no one to compete against but herself, forever haunted and restricted by her past body of now, Minaj's Aug. 10 album release looms large. Perhaps the title of Queen of Hip-Hop really is about to move zip codes. Everyone thought the air was clear after a photo circulated the web of Cardi B and Nicki Minaj seemingly reconciling whatever differences they had. That was back in May, and after their most recent Fashion Week situation we know that the two rap stars are still at odds. Despite the drama, below are some historical milestones that both female rap stars have easily surpassed. Who has the best track record? Yes Nicki has YEARS on Cardi, but you canât knock Cardi Bâs come up! Who do yâall think is better? 1. Cardi B went from being a stripper in the strip club to a Billboard chart-topping artist. The 25-year-old rapper saw her first #1 pop hit on the Billboard Hot 100 with âBodak Yellow.â She is only the second female rapper to have a #1 on the Hot 100, Lauryn Hill was the first. 2. She became the first rapper and only the third act to have her first three records on the Hot 100 end up in the top 10 simultaneously. The two acts before her to achieve such a noteworthy accomplishment in music history were The Beatles and Ashanti. The three hitâs that made this possible were âBodak Yellow,â âNo Limit,â and âMotorsport.â So no, no one hit wonder over here! 3. Itâs important to remember that Cardi Bâs initial claim to fame was staring on VH1âs hit show Love &. Hip Hop. Cardi B is pretty much the only reality show star that was able to transform into a truly successful rapper. She is now a global phenomenon, and this all happened over the past three years. 4. The new mom was also the first women with five simultaneous top 10 hits on the Billboard Hot R&B/Hip-Hop songs chart. Prior to this, Kendrick Lamar and Drake were the only two rappers to launch five songs into the top 10; therefore, Cardi added her name to another short historical list in Rap! She also broke BeyoncĂ©âs record, for female artists in the process! Queen B had four hits on the chart back in 2016. Nicki Minaj 1. First of all, Nicki Minaj is the best selling female rapper of all time. Yes there are many other greats like Lauryn Hill, Missy Elliott, and Lil Kim, but Nickiâs sales have crossed over the 50 million range! Most notably, âSuper Bassâ was 8X platinum, and âStarshipsâ 6X. Many believe that Nicki Minaj has earned the title âQueen of Rapâ for these very reasons. 2. Before Cardi B, Nicki was the highest charting solo female rapper. In 2014, âAnacondaâ didnât gain the number one spot, but it peaked at #2 on the Hot 100. Put some respekt on her name! 3. Nicki Minaj BROKE Aretha Franklinâs record and currently has more entries on the Hot 100 than any other female artist in history. The Queen Radio host has 76 Billboard Hot 100 entries. 4. In late 2010 her Pink Friday album reached #1 on the Billboard Top 200 albums chart, and her hit single âSuper Bassâ peaked at #2 on the Hot 100. Go Nicki!
